They would agree with you that becoming your own version of "The Captain", to use your analogy, is the core of your seduction powers by virtue of bringing maximum value to the interaction between you and females. Get on that path and you spend less time caught up in canned lines, peacocking, palm reading and merely entertaining ( but not at all seducing ) girls with pre-programmed antics ( the dancing monkey syndrome ) etc etc; and more time actually creating and amplifying real attraction between you and your well chosen targets in a way that is natural, fun, spontaneous and tailor made for each and every encounter. He is very emotionally unstable and has serious ego issues. Ever read "The Game" by Neil Strauss? You'll see how seriously messed up he is. HOWEVER, Many pickup artists are nowhere near as messed-up as he is. For many guys who have no hope with girls, the seduction community has been like a beacon of light at the end of a very cold dark tunnel. A lot of pickup artists do the same things as well - like having others pay to get help from them, because they know what they're doing. Also I think that saying that all pickup artists manipulate the minds of women is stretching it just a little bit. The unfortunate thing is that you're mostly very very right about the whole seduction community, and I'd much rather follow your recommended path since not only is it much healthier but also far more natural and enjoyable. However I think that the seduction community and its proponents BECOME that path to self-improvement for many guys, the path that you talk about. It's very difficult to know how to handle those male-to-female interactions for many guys without the pickup stuff. It seems impossible to just do it by yourself. A lot of pickup artists do the same things as well – like having others pay to get help from them, because they know what they’re doing. Also I think that saying that all pickup artists manipulate the minds of women is stretching it just a little bit.
